Hello Lawton Leopards! My name is Katie Vanderhoff. Prior to becoming the Building Literacy Coach, I taught kindergarten at Lawton for five years. I am passionate about literacy instruction and helping children feel confident and supported in their literacy development. I am looking forward to working with and supporting our Lawton community. I grew up in Ann Arbor and attended Ann Arbor Public Schools. Now I live on a working dairy farm, which my husband runs. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, exercising, and spending time with my family.

One of my favorite books is Peanut Butter & Cupcake because of the silly characters and the message about being a kind and inclusive friend.
